Custom Stained Glass Portfolio

Work That Looks Like It Always Belonged
When you need custom stained glass in Charleston, SC, the hardest part isn’t choosing a pattern. It’s choosing someone you can trust to get it right. Homeowners worry about work that feels mass produced, lead lines that look sloppy, glass that doesn’t fit the opening, or an “install” that turns into a messy, stressful experience. And if the project is tied to a historic home, the pressure is even higher…because once a detail looks wrong, you can’t unsee it.
This portfolio is here to make the choice easier. Lost Art Found is a Charleston based stained glass studio led by Jason Petitpain, with over 30 years of combined hands-on experience in custom fabrication, restoration, and specialty glasswork. We’re local specialists—not a franchise—and we take on projects that require taste, patience, and real craftsmanship. Our goal is simple: create stained glass windows and leaded glass windows that feel timeless, and restore what time made valuable without erasing its character.
As you browse, you’ll see the range…historic repairs, clean leaded designs, stained glass transoms, doors, and one of a kind window panels. If you’re ready to talk about what your home needs, request a consultation and we’ll guide you from idea to installation with clarity and care.

Historic Window Glazing & Character Restoration

Many Charleston homeowners come to us after being told the only answer is replacement. But in older homes…especially those with original details…replacement can change everything: proportions, reflections, texture, and the quiet charm that made the window special in the first place. When glazing fails, panes crack, or putty breaks down, you need someone who understands how historic windows are built and how to repair them without making them look “new” in the wrong way.
In our portfolio, you’ll see projects where the goal was preservation: keeping the window’s character while restoring strength, clarity, and proper sealing. We work with a restoration mindset and a craftsman’s restraint, using methods that respect the materials and the architecture. That means the finished result doesn’t shout “repair”…it simply looks correct again, which is exactly what homeowners want.

If you’re deciding between restoration and replacement, or you’re worried about the look of modern glass in a historic opening, start here. Learn more about our Restoration & Preservation ➝ and explore related stories in our Blog / Studio Journal ➝.

Stained Glass Repair & Structural Re Leading

Stained glass often fails slowly. A panel can bow. A lead line can weaken. A piece can crack and still “hold” for a while…until it doesn’t. Homeowners usually notice something small first: a rattle, a sag, a line that looks tired, or a stained glass window panel that no longer sits flat. The fear is real: “Is this going to fall? Is it fixable? Will it look the same when it’s done?”
In this portfolio, you’ll see stained glass repair that ranges from careful, minimal restoration to full structural re leading when the piece needs deeper engineering support. We don’t patch problems on the surface and hope for the best. We assess what’s happening underneath, and we repair with long term stability in mind…so the glass can live another generation without constant worry.
If you want to understand the difference between a quick repair and the kind of restoration stained glass truly needs, this is the work to study. Learn more about our Stained Glass Repair ➝ and meet the person behind the bench on Meet the Craftsman ➝.

Custom Leaded Glass Windows & "Instant Heritage" Design

Some homes need color and story. Others need quiet texture and privacy…especially in entryways, sidelights, and bathrooms where you want light without a clear view inside. That’s where leaded glass windows shine. They add elegance without shouting, and they can make a newer home feel grounded, finished, and full of intention.
In our portfolio, you’ll see custom leaded commissions that bridge modern luxury and old world soul. Clean geometry. Subtle textures. Designs that match the architecture instead of fighting it. We often create leaded glass for homeowners in Mount Pleasant and Daniel Island who want their home to feel less cookie cutter and more personal…like it has history, even if it’s brand new.

This work is design conscious, but it’s also practical. It improves privacy, softens harsh sunlight, and elevates curb appeal in one move. If you’re dreaming about entry glass, sidelights, or a stained glass transom that feels timeless, start here. Learn more about our Stained & Leaded Glass Services ➝.

Custom Stained Glass Windows, Transoms, and Doors

A great stained glass piece changes the mood of a home. It can make a hallway glow, turn an entry into a moment, or bring a quiet “signature” to a space that feels plain. But homeowners are often afraid of stained glass looking too busy, too themed, or out of place…especially in high end homes where taste matters.
Our approach is to design stained glass windows that feel like architecture, not decoration. In this portfolio, you’ll see stained glass transoms, window panels, and doors that balance light, line, and restraint. Some are classic and heritage inspired. Some are clean and modern. All are made to fit the home…not the other way around. Because the best compliment we hear is: “It looks like it was always meant to be here.”

If you’ve been saving inspiration photos but don’t know how to translate them into something that fits your home, we can help. Learn more about our Custom & Decorative Artistic Glass ➝ or explore the behind the scenes on our Process ➝.

Why People Trust Lost Art Found

Homeowners choose Lost Art Found because the experience feels personal and the work feels permanent. You’re not dealing with a rotating crew or a sales pipeline. Lowcountry Knowledge. Portfolio Deep Craft

Jason doesn’t just work in the Lowcountry — he understands it. He knows how Charleston homes live: the salt air, the humidity, the strong light, and the mix of historic character and modern renovations. That matters when you’re installing a custom glass backsplash, because clean lines, proper fit, and the right materials are what keep a finished kitchen looking finished for years. You’re not getting a one-size-fits-all approach. You’re getting a local craftsman who knows what works in Lowcountry homes and why.
